Experience
Luke Welmerink is an associate attorney with Anderson, Dorn & Rader, Ltd. and practices primarily in the areas of estate, tax, and asset protection planning. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Welmerink gained valuable experience working in finance, accounting, and tax planning matters. His experience helping individuals and businesses in these areas provides him with a unique set of skills to help his clients achieve their wealth and legacy planning goals with Anderson, Dorn & Rader, Ltd.
Mr. Welmerink began his professional career as a small business specialist for Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., where he advised small businesses and their owners. Seeking to broaden the range of services he could provide to clients, he returned to school to obtain his law degree and LL.M. degree in taxation. Thereafter, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in San Francisco where he provided international tax consulting services to a wide range of clients.
With the firm, Mr. Welmerink delivers public seminars monthly in multiple locations throughout Northern Nevada on estate planning and other related topics. He meets with clients in both the Reno and Minden office locations.
Education
Mr. Welmerink attended St. Mary’s College of California as an undergraduate, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He continued his education at the Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California, where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 2011 as a member of the Jesse Carter Society, and his LL.M. in Taxation degree in 2013.
Mr. Welmerink is an active member of the Nevada State Bar, the California State Bar, and the Washoe County Bar Association.
Personal
As a third generation Nevadan, Mr. Welmerink loves spending time with his wife and three young daughters in Reno and Lake Tahoe. He is proud to volunteer his time and is a former chair of, the Young Leaders Committee of the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, and as the President of the Board of Directors for Mater Academy of Northern Nevada, a public charter school. He and his family are proud members of Zazpiak Bat, the Reno Basque Club, where his oldest daughter can be found showing off traditional Basque dance at festivals around Northern Nevada.
